Forest

Everything started with a self-portrait and the idea of a double exposure style, that I never tried before.

First of all I took a photo with 2 flashes. One light hitting my white background, a second flash with a beauty dish and a grid behind the camera, in a 45° angle, so it would mainly hit my face.

Than I started looking for the right motive that I wanted to use for the double exposure. I decided to use a photo of trees, that I took in a really steep angle.

My idea was to combine the forest with my portrait, so that the shape of the body was still slightly visible and only the eyes would stand out, like someone is watching from above.

In postproduction I used various blending modes and brushes to give the photo the look I was looking for. Though I wasn't quiet happy yet and I decided to give the photo some more color, that it stands out. Once I added some color the photo looked exactly the way I wanted it to be.

Overall I am very happy with the outcome and I really enjoy looking at it.
