39th & Madison

This currently my favorite picture. When I was shooting film back in school (Philly early 1990's) they used to give us boxes of Tri-X to use and I wasnt a fan. I used to go buy boxes of expired Agfa APX100, shoot it at ASA80 and develop it in Rodinal all just trying to get it to look different than everybody else's stuff. Although I shot this with a D800, it immediately reminded me of those contrasty APX shots from back in the day. Such great range and shadow detail. Its easy to forget how hard (and time consuming) it was to get results like this in a darkroom.
