"This photograph was taken during last summer (2013) at New Port Beach in California. My friend asked me to go to the beach with him to fish but I decided to take photos instead. Although it was a little bit cold and foggy, I still wanted to try the long exposure technique with my Canon 650D along with my tripod.
Getting the shot was difficult because it was too bright so I had to use a small f-stop. However, the problem was easy to solve using Photoshop. I did change the colors of the photo to get the blue-ish looking water. One drawback of that was the sand turned pink! I was satisfied with the blue water and I think that the pink sand looks pretty nice so I kept it. I decided that Pink Sand was a good name to go with this photograph."-Thanh Pham
