It certainly is not for everyone, as it is very large and quite heavy, and as such, if you do not need that extra wide aperture, it probably is not worth lugging around. However, if you love shallow depth of field or need a lot of light-gathering power, it is hard to argue against the Sigma. With it, you get great autofocus performance and show-stopping images that are clinically sharp with lovely bokeh and great control of aberrations. It is definitely the lens I miss most from the Sony lineup since I moved back to Canon. Nonetheless, there are many, many more options, so check out the video above for the full rundown from Malloch.
