A Comparison of the Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 AF and Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lenses

Both the Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 AF and Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary offer Fujifilm X Series users approximately 35mm full frame equivalent focal lengths in tandem with very wide maximum apertures, making them versatile options for a variety of applications. That being said, Fujifilm's new 40-megapixel sensor can be quite demanding. Can these lenses keep up? This excellent video comparison takes a look at the performance and image quality you can expect.

Coming to you from Dustin Abbott, this great video comparison looks at the Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 AF and Sigma 23mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lenses. At $550, both these lenses are affordable, which makes it all the more impressive to see them keeping up with Fujifilm's very demanding 40-megapixel sensor. That being said, there are some notable differences between the two. The Sigma is much lighter, but the Viltrox had better build quality and weather-sealing, plus it offers an aperture ring, something that may be a big deal to Fujifilm shooters who are used to that experience. The Viltrox also seems to offer smoother bokeh and better image quality, though if you are looking for a more portable experience, the Sigma is probably the way to go. Check out the video above for Abbott's full thoughts on both lenses.

Please, correct the call: the Viltrox lens in this comparison is the 27mm, not the 75mm.

Thank you! I need more sleep.

Yes, you need to correct the Viltrox being compared. 27mm, not 75mm
