At the moment, all of the focus on Canon cameras and lenses is on the RF line, but before that series existed, there was the EF-M line, which is still hanging around and offers small and impressively affordable bodies and lenses. If you are looking for such a setup, check out this fantastic video tutorial that offers a comprehensive guide to all the lenses in the EF-M system.
Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this excellent video tutorial will show you everything you need to know about Canon's EF-M lenses. The EF-M line never quite got entirely rolled out the say the EF and RF lines did, but there are still a few capable and highly affordable lenses in the lineup that when paired with an EOS M camera, offer an impressively compact package. One such lens is the EF-M 22mm f/2 STM, which at $199 is highly affordable. It is worth noting that it is unlikely that Canon will develop the EF-M line any further with all the focus placed on the RF line; nonetheless, they remain affordable and portable cameras and lenses for a range of applications. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Frost.
There are some beautiful EF-M lenses.
Many of these could probably just be re-designed with an RR mount and work wonderfully on APS-C RF-mount cameras... Hope Canon goes down this path, as it would mean less R&D costs being passed down to the customers.
Yeah, the lenses will sit a little deep in the body, but ultimately, who cares? There's no mirror to flip up 👀
