The new 50mm f/1.4 DG DN Art is awfully impressive, offering loads of impressive image quality at an equally impressive price. Nonetheless, as part of the G Master series, the Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM brings with it some of the company's most advanced optical design. So, how do the two compare? This excellent video review takes a look at both.
Coming to you from Alex Barrera, this great video review compares the new Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG DN Art to the Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM. While both lenses are highly impressive, there are some minute differences in image quality and in maximum aperture, but the real thing I think potential buyers should consider is the price. At $849, the Sigma is less than half the price of the Sony ($1,998). There are arguments to be made for the Sony, but I find it hard to believe that the majority of photographers will need to drop an extra $1,000. It is also worth noting that f/1.2 is only a third of a stop wider than f/1.4, which is unlikely to be noticeable in practice. Still, you certainly can't go wrong with either lens! Check out the video above for the full rundown from Barrera on both lenses.

Seems to me like Sony needs to start dropping the prices of their lenses.
That's a good comparison.
Can I add to this - how does it compare to the new RF 50mm 1.4 ( IS :0 ) ?
I hear it's performance is so good/interesting, it practically doesn't exist?
Hope Canon has one to review soon!
