I am a freelance HR Consultant and Trainer by profession since 2010. I quit my salaried corporate job and moved into training and consulting. I shifted to Kolhapur (my native place of sorts) in 2012 from Mumbai. Photography was there in the family since my birth. My father was fond of it though we did not have any camera. My first pic is when I was 3 months old. Then onwards father used to photograph many times with a friend of his, who had a camera. It is from there that I had been fascinated by this art. However, it was only somewhere in the ’90s that we got hands-on our first owned camera which was a Minolta. It came as a gift to my Dad from a friend of his. But it was just for the sake of it. Nobody ever taught me the rules or what to do and how to go about Photography. It was just for fun. That time it was just loading the film roll and clicking. Things changed when I bought my first DSLR in November 2012. 4 years were spent (Should I say Wasted…????) clicking on auto mode, barely understanding the details of the gadget. However, I started serious photography Mid-2016 onwards; when I was lucky to get associated with a local group named Kolhapur Amateur Photographers association – at the age of 46. This was the turning point and I learned almost everything basic in photography with this group of amateur photographers.
After learning and understanding the basics, I have found my liking to be in Culture and Street Photography essentially as it challenges us a lot.
