I had a science class in HS that taught a section on Black & White photography. Film photography. I loved it. I asked for a camera for graduation. My sister kindly explained to my parents that I meant a manual camera, not the automatic things that were popular at the time. In college, I spent so much time in the darkroom that my boss in the college scene shop just called the phone there to find me.

After I graduated from college, I went to work. Not as a professional photographer, and I didn't really have time for darkroom anymore. Luckily for me, digital really grew up in leaps and bounds and was able to afford a few different cameras over that time. Nothing worth printing though.

So a few years ago I started really shooting again. And Photoshop and Lightroom became my darkroom. I experiment a bit, but most of what I do is stuff that I did either in-camera with filters or in processing in the darkroom.

I am not sure sometimes that people understand that very little photoshopping could not be done before computers. Just another tool.

What can I really say? I am a dork and a geek and a bit of a nerd. I quit my job and started working for myself for the first time in my life. I am a Woodworker, Metalworker, Fabricator, Photographer, and I am fortunate enough to use these skills to make a living. I have been very lucky.

I deal with OCD and ADHD badly, and I deal with generalized anxiety disorder and depression. Most days are good, some days are bad.
