Frank Morris
Frank Morris was born in Genoa, Italy, where currently he lives and works. Very young, fascinated by photography, he buys, with his savings, a reflex Voigtlander SLR, with which takes its first B/W roll. Thus began his self-study path. Reading books and experimenting in the field, he develops and releases its first images in the school lab. Then prepares a darkroom and continues his experiments in the classic bath house. Develops and print from slide, using that beautiful color material that was "Cibachrome". Meanwhile he finds work as a computer technician in a multinational company of services, placing in his spite of the photography in the background for many years, while never abandoning it altogether. It will be the artist's discovery Paolo Gioli, the study of his works and of his technique, to retract powerfully photography in his interests, beginning a personal investigation with the large format Polaroid medium. We are in 2000, and are made the first transfer Polaroid 4x5 inch. The mix of photographic technique and pure dexterity, an essential feature and strictly necessary for the use of this material, together with the passion for the visual arts and the representation of women in history, led him to be inspired clearly to the Pre-Raphaelites artists to arrive at interpretations much more current. His works have been exhibited in art galleries of Italian and foreign cities, including Milan, Berlin, Lisbon, and published in international art book and magazines.
