Landscape photography has changed the way I look at the world. I have always felt a deep connection with the outdoors, but photography has helped me hone my focus, and as I trained and practised, I started to notice the way in which light affects mood and the shape of the landscape, and my appreciation for texture, colour and contrast started to develop.
It might sound a little clichéd, but photography truly opened my eyes and helped me appreciate the world around me in a greater depth. I am permanently enamoured with how a photograph captures a specific moment in time, that can never be repeated. The most inspirational photography can evoke emotions, memories and feelings that go beyond the visual, and my goal as a professional photographer is to inspire others to connect with their surroundings in a deeper way.
Before long, photography became much more than a hobby. I took my development further, studying for City & Guilds and Level 4 Professional Photography. I have also trained in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, as well as further broadening my horizons by attending workshops for weddings, portraiture, lighting and camera work. I believe that landscape photography is a lifelong learning process, and by getting out into nature at different times of day and in different seasons, I learn something new every time I pick up my camera. After 30 years, my passion for photography is stronger than ever, and I enjoy nothing more than sharing my passion with others.
