John Howell

I started my professional career working as an editor at a powersports magazine in 1991. When I was first hired, my boss told me that I'd also have to learn how to take photos since we had no full-time photographer on staff. Thankfully my boss was a great photographer and he showed me the ropes. I haven't stopped taking photos since.

Over the years I've worked for numerous publishing companies and have shot a wide variety of subjects. I have shot cover photos and features for some of the largest magazines in powersports and I have contributed to well-known magazines such as Field & Stream, Outdoor Life and Popular Science. My magazine assignments have taken me all over the world...and I've never taken it for granted. I am extremely grateful to have had many amazing experiences behind a camera.

Today I work for GearShift advertising and we work with Yamaha Motor USA as our main client.
