James Pernol

James Pernol is an independent photojournalist and photographer with assignments to shoot events and news coverage for The Gannet and State News family of weekly newspapers.
In his spare time, he keeps busy making images of animals, automobiles, nature, and other items of interest.
James likes simple, well exposed images that are full of detail...showing you the detail you see every day, but may never notice.
James has been a working photographic professional since 2003, although his previous experience in photo labs took place in the Army.
James has the equipment and ability to shoot 35mm traditional (film) and digital. Glass size ranges from 28mm to 600mm. Complimented with lighting gear and computer gear, he can get top quality images and transmit images on deadlines.
James specializes in portrait photography as well as sports and focuses on racing, volleyball, basketball and football. He also shoots other sports including baseball, softball, golf and soccer.
The teams James covers consistently include: Delaware State University, Wesley College, Wilmington University, and the local teams in the Henlopen Conference. I also follow the Delmar Speedway as well as NASCAR when the time exists.
James' images have graced newspapers and magazines. He has also been published inside NCAA publications, regional and local magazines, and has shot assignments for wire services.
