I used to go through a chest of photos with my Grandfather before he passed away. The images were so old, and most were sepia or black and white. Not colorful, nothing out of the ordinary. Just images - yet so powerful. They told a story to me about family members I never knew. They showed me what my Grandparents looked like when they were younger - how trees did not line the familiar streets I currently know. A time that everything was so different than it is now it was hard to
imagine. I treasure those images. This is part of why I am so passionate about documenting life.
