I have been a photographer always and am a member of the Royal Photographic Society. I documented a lot of the West of Ireland, in particular the people and surrounds of Co Mayo. My work during that time drew positive attention and I soon realized that with technology improving there was room to realize an idea that could breathe life into historical imagery. I discovered that I had a skill for patience and art combined and quite literally let photography alone, to concentrate on advanced colorization. Over the past three years I have seen my creations travel the world and begin to reeducate and entertain thousands of people weekly. Living in the West of Ireland it is apparent that I am quite disconnected physically, yet the power of connectivity through the internet has been tremendous and enables me to remain here undertaking this work. A series of projects I have realized have gone on to feature in National Geographic and of recent a worldwide advertising campaign for Dell Computers. I find colorization is a hugely rewarding experience personally, in that it invites a sense of self reflection and enthuses young minds especially.
