Paul Peterson
My wife and I live near Atlanta, Georgia. I'm the father of five grown children and have lived here most of my life, having moved here from Minnesota after graduating from college.
Over the years, I've loved taking shots with point-n-shoots, while out on walks and at church or family events. I was in my high school's photo club and took a photography class while in college. No formal training beyond that. Over the years, I slowly developed an eye for composition and skill in post editing. Near the end of 2015, I finally upgraded to a mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses and started using Lightroom. I always shoot RAW and most often bracketed shots in order to create HDRs with Photomatix Pro, before finishing up in Lightroom.
I dabble a bit with photo-sphere, gigapixel, and stereo images. Check out my respective work at the links you'll find in my Facebook "Details about Paul" section.
In November of 2019, I broke my Samsung NX500 camera beyond repair. So I upgraded to a camera I'd had my eye on for a while - the Sony a7r III full-frame mirrorless camera. I gladly saved 40% off new price by going used. At the same time I had to get new full-frame lenses for Sony's E-mount. I went with the Sony 85mm f/1.8 and two Samyang lenses: the 18mm f/2.8 and 45mm f/1.8.
One thing you'll notice about my work, is that I try my best to shoot at or near ground level. Why? Because most often times, the ground (especially pavement) is unattractive, Simple as that!
