One day at a dinner with my wife's family last year, I talked about going out on the coming Tuesday to capture the Milky Way for my first time. My wife's cousin Brendon Porter overheard and wanted to come along. Proving his interest and commitment by showing up at my house at 1am and staying out in the March cold until 5am for the chance to capture the Milky Way, I knew that Brendon was a perfect match for a photography YouTube channel I wanted to start. While driving back home we decided we could start working together to build up our portfolios and chronicle it on a YouTube channel, so we founded PhotogAdventures.com and have been producing content for YouTube and a weekly Podcast ever since.
For our work on PhotogAdventures.com we have been getting out consistently every month and by the time we went live on our website in September, we had already been out at Notch Peak, Arches (for one sunset), Goblin Valley, Goosenecks State Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Mirror Lake, the Knolls near the Salt Flats and we had been out to unique not-so-well-known places like the abandoned silo and train trestle, Delta Solar Ruins, Strawberry Pinnacles, mouth of Parley's Canyon and Utah Lake.
Photog Adventures has been a blast! Brendon and I can't wait until we can do this full-time. But for now, we balance it around day jobs and busy family lives.
