Rodney Rice

I am a lover of the Arts and I am in the business of capturing the beauty of movement. Though, not limited to Washington DC, my work allows the local dancer, an opportunity to be exposed in a "new light."

Distinct to my photography business is my character. First and foremost, I have a clear sense of humanity. No matter what the objective of the shoot, my goal is to allow the subject to be who they truly are, so that who they are; will speak in the photographs created.

My memories as a child include a neighborhood record shop with two very large speakers attached to the building's exterior. The adjacent corners of the record shop were filled with people who would sing and dance many hours of their day and night away. I found myself intrigued by photography at a very young age. In the late 70's, with my mother's camera in hand, i embarked on photography as the "kid with the camera." As I look back, that's where it all began for me. In May 2010, I joined as a student at the Center for Digital Imaging Art at Boston University - Georgetown Campus in Washington, DC. I adore the photography of dance. It keeps the best times of my life very much alive.
