I came to still photography from 20 years as a cinematographer. I love crossing between the two in my work -- each has different needs and each has taught me so much about the other.

I am based in Nashville but I shoot all over the country. I shoot editorial and portrait work mostly. I look for ways to show my subjects honestly and simply.

I prefer to light my pictures. That gives me a direct way to control the look and direct the viewer's eye. Since finding Youngnuo flashes, I have enjoyed shooting with strobes a lot! they are easy to set up and adjust, and they have never gone down yet (touch wood). I typically use 2 or 3 in a setup with Westcott Umbrellas or bounced or thru a Cheetah box or beauty dish.
