Salva Mendez

I was born in Seville, Spain.

Since I was a child, I have felt a huge attraction for technology and arts. When I had to choose a career, I decided to study architecture - a wonderful combination of both. For more than ten years, I ran my own architecture firm.

Even before university, I fell in love with photography which is another great fusion of technical skills and art. At the age of 18, I discovered the beauty of developing my own photos. This is when I got my first SLR camera and set up a B&W lab at home. Since then, photography has been one of my greatest passions but I did not see it as a full-time job back then.

When I moved to Shanghai in 2011, my good friend Mathias Guillin, who is a great photographer himself, offered me the opportunity to start working as a professional photographer. I still work as an architect, graphic designer and DJ but most of my energy and time is now dedicated to photography. I love to see the happiness on my clients' faces when they see their products, properties, families or themselves in a way that they could not have imagined before.

As a photographer, I enjoy variety, and I love to constantly explore new styles as well as techniques. In the past years, I have worked in portraits, fashion, events, products, landscapes, real estate, etc.
