I found my way back to photography after my mother died suddenly in 2019l. She was the center of my world and I wasn't prepared for the shock to my system that would occur. It eventually got so bad I found myself admitted for the hospital for three weeks. When I got home, I didn't want to leave the bedroom. After two weeks, I saw my camera on a shelf and convinced myself to take a walk around the block. And I kept walking another block another day until it got to the point I had to be outside The project I'm working on now is about Crown Heights, Brooklyn, the place where I was born and I"m documenting how the community is on the knife's edge of gentrification. My photos try to document what's about to disappear.
