My formal education happened at that time in the late 90s where schools started getting familiar with the digital image, offering access to both worlds: mainly anchored on analog and film, but starting to add a taste of the digital, with courses and workshops on Photoshop mostly.

But I didn’t want to just do school, so found my way to work pretty soon, assisting several photographers working in fashion and advertising, while participating in independent short films and a few commercials as a freelancer.

With images from a small Taiwanese pocket-camera –3 humble mega pixels– I started my early explorations on photoshop, and this helped me build a portfolio as a retoucher that, ten years later, got me a job in Middle East, retouching in-house for MEMAC Ogilvy.

The strength of the sun in Barcelona seemed more like my fit, and moving here introduced me to great professionals, among those the special team at Moonlight, that re-awoke a passion that had been taking a nap for a while: cinematography.

We are all nerds –photographers I mean– and learning with the guys at Moonlight to manage data, set up hard drives for gigantic backups while playing with cinema cameras and lenses, setting up gear and sorting out workflows, are things that today get me excited to a funny state.
