Shawn Kent

Canadian Shawn M. Kent has made his living capturing light in a box. An artist and cartoonist in his youth, Shawn began sketching and rendering by pencil the world around him. Joining the Canadian Forces in 1998 as an Imaging Technician, his art took a new form. Introduced to the camera, Shawn spent the next 15 years traveling the world and capturing the stories of soldiers, sailors and airmen as they unfolded before his lens. Currently working as the Formation Imaging Services Officer at Canadian Forces Base Halifax, Shawn now only photographs on his own time. Still an avid shooter, he can frequently be found with his family at interesting events or locations seeking new light to put in a box.
