Forgive the lack of photos. This is a new account. I'll post as I'm able to.

Many years ago, I was a paid photographer. I shot weddings and portraiture, and I enjoyed it. Gradually, I became kind of burned out, so I went to grad school and got into education. Now, many years later, I use photography as a reason to get out in nature and enjoy the outdoors.

I still like taking photos of people. But endless days of babies and large families, and over-bearing fathers of the bridge can wear down even the most enthusiastic photographers.

My favorite places are the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area in western KY/TN. A lot of my nature pics are from there. However, any park, stream or field offers possibilities!

I shot a variety of formats as a paid shooter--35mm, 6x7, split 70, etc. My personal 35mm gear was Nikon and Canon, although I have used Hasselblads, Mamiya 6x7 and 645, Camerz Z series portrait cameras as well as your good-old point and shoot pocket cameras!

During high school, I worked in a camera store and was on the school paper. Back then, I made all the decisions. I still have a soft spot for rangefinder and basic 35mm cameras. Now, my hobby gear is a Nikon D5600 APS-C, with a Sigma 150mm-600mm tele and a couple of Nikon lenses. I usually keep an Olympus E520 camera with a wider angle lens with me for closer-up shots, rather than trying to change lenses on the fly.
