SubQulture Studio is the singular vision of it’s owner - A conceptual photography studio that captures the beauty that lies below the surface of polite society and pop culture. It is a reflection of the gritty image from the city in which it was conceived - Detroit. SubQulture’s work encompasses elements of light and darkness, mystery and revelation, eros and innocence, absurdity and elegance; Focused primarily on a vision of fashions from decades ago intertwined with contemporary aesthetic influences; Lit with the sublime character of natural light or the dramatic flair inspired from theater and stage.

More than just a guy with a camera, SubQulture Studio also brings 30 years of design, sketching, illustration and fine art training and experience to each piece of work. The photographic image is just the raw material from which to fashion unique pieces of visual art. Driven by a deep desire to produce the highest quality work, every aspect of the process is handled with care and craftsmanship. Authenticity is not just a marketing slogan. The work has the look and feel that can only come from being immersed in the subcultures themselves.
