I love spending time in nature to get away from everyday life. For me, photography is a means to express moods and emotions experienced outdoors. I focus on my thoughts and feelings, reflect on how to interpret them and integrate them into my photography. In order to enjoy the peace and tranquility, and let my thoughts wander, I often venture out by myself, with my lovely family or with a friend or two.
I like to go at my own pace and contemplate. I like to stop whenever I want to or step out of a tent in the middle of the night to see the stars shining in the sky. I also like to experience the fear in the black of a dark night, knowing that I can return to a warm mountain hut. My aim is to share these emotions with you through my photographs.
I grew up in the beautiful Allgäu region in Southern Germany. I enjoyed exploring the snowy mountains in the winter and the lakes and meadows in the summer.
From an early age on, my dad took me to the mountains and, even though photography was not my main focus yet, the camera always accompanied us on our outings. It was also my dad who introduced me to the darkroom where black and white images magically appeared on a piece of white paper.
I now live close to Geneva, Switzerland which is ideally located between the dramatic Alps and the slightly lower Jura mountains.
I want to share with you my insights on landscape photography and how nature can help us find peace of mind.
