Jurgen Marx
My name is Jurgen Marx (Badenhorst) I was born on the 20th of May 1977 in Pretoria, the beautiful Capital of South Africa. Sadly there were no pictures of my arrival, during an era where Film was king, 35mm cameras were everywhere, autofocus hadn’t been invented, there was no Internet and there were no cell phones—smart or otherwise. There was only one camera with a microprocessor, and real photographers had bulk rollers and shot Ilford HP-5 and smelled like Fixer and Kodak D-76.
My first ever interaction with a real 35mm camera was the brain child of my Aunt Alberta, who taught me the basics and took every picture of me and my family I ever owned. Every other picture was taken by the seasoned school photographer that wore those funny tight shorts….yikes!!!!
Myself…I capture images, find moments and tell photo stories and best of all I freeze time…
Oh and PS. I DON’T WEAR THE FUNNY TIGHT SHORTS…
