My interest in photography started in the 8th grade as an elective course in high school. After graduating typical life events altered my course and I put away my camera for a couple of decades. And then in I discovered photography all over again with the new digital cameras. I consider myself a landscape and still life photographer and I'm virtually never without my camera.
I enjoy computer technology and blending that with photography came naturally to me. My first series, “A Small Project” started out on our coffee table in 2005. Using scale model train figures, old PC circuit boards, hard drives, and a set of macro extension tubes to captures miniature scenes. The concept; create scenes using these miniature figures and computer components that would represent terms, phrases and references used in high-tech. The micro components on the circuit boards are the only real visual reference of size. I did not intend to create a project but I found myself going back to this series over the years.
Since that time I have been developing 4 other projects; Lights in the Sound, The Regatta, Souls of Stump Lake, and City of Seattle. Lights in the Sound are images of sun rays and other naturally occurring light shows in Puget Sound, zooming in to isolate scenes as they unfold in a matter of minutes.
I have ordered a tiggertrap to start playing with long exposures and more dynamic HDR images. Can't wait to play.
