I’ve been doing photography for ten years, I graduated from NUA with a 2:1 and won D&AD New Blood award, getting a contract with Getty Images and had my first book cover that year.
Photographing images for book covers is a love that is deep rooted in childhood memories of my mother making up stories about my little brother and I on a magic carpet. Being part of another world, feeling connected to the author and their ideas. Helping create the initial mood and ambience for the reader to be drawn too. I pick up covers I like the look of and knowing I could help that choice gives me such pride.
Finding my love of book cover photography happened when I went to Canada instead of my graduation day (I’m not a cap and gown gal). Going into a local library and saw my face on a sizeable board promoting a Canadian author’s new book, Girl Crazy. I bought a copy whilst I was over there, it was a very good book and it started the pursuit of story telling through my photography.
Since joining Arcangel Images and Trevillion Images and honing in on my passion of book cover photography. I've been given opportunities to be part of book covers for talented authors such as Nicholas Sparks, Isabelle Allende, Robert Ludlum and Jo Nesbø.
