About David
I'm a retired conservation botanist, having worked almost entirely for the US Department of the Interior, first BLM then Fish and Wildlife Service. Thus lots of plants, with special liking for palms, cycads and bromeliads. I'm also fond of beaches and like catching surfers. There have recently been opportunities for travel, mostly with the oldest Olympus and its oldest lens.
I'm involved in light design for Christmas season at a tiny botanical garden, so I've been learning how to make decent photos of flowers made of LED string lights and (really bad) videos of test computer-controlled floodlight shows. Palms show off wonderfully under color-changing floods!
