James Penn

Im an Editorial/Fashion/Portrait and Commercial Photographer. Also, I have documentary work of my travel to Africa, The Caribbean and Spain. My work has garnered two awards in a national competition, been exhibited as a solo artist at several galleries and alternative spaces in Atlanta and has been purchased by private collectors, along with national advertisement for Conair Hair Products, House of Cheatham and Pfizer, Inc./NYC. My most recent accomplishment is being published in Atlanta Magazine's Modern Luxury, twice and in Black Hair Sophisticates.

Apart from my own personal body of work outside of my commercial endeavors, I also was 1st Studio Assistant at Derek Blanks Photography for over 2.5 years, with a stint as Studio Mgr. This allowed me to build a portfolio that include the likes of CeeLo Green, Melyssa Ford and other media personalities. Working in a full-time studio allowed me to work along side Jennifer Hudson, Monique, Toni Braxton and many more entertainment figures. Furthermore, I completed a Commercial/Ad Project for a national designer brand that was featured on Home Shopping Network and a music video for up and coming vocalist. Currently serve as Director of Portrait Studios in Atlanta for a school photography company.
