Michael Wollscheidt

I'm an amateur photographer. I retired 3 years ago after spending 35 years in local television news as a director of live newscasts. Now I'm enjoying my freedom from the crazy, stressful world of local TV news by using my time to further my interest in photography. I'm also an artist and have several of my works in colored pencil displayed on my personal website. My photography, however, is the main focus of my site at www.thephotoartloft.com. I'm currently debating what upgrades I might make to my gear bag. From various comments, articles and videos I've seen recently, I'm getting the feeling that much of the photography world will view me as not only an old guy, but an old guy who will not be able to create any worthwhile images due to the gear I'm using. The lens I've used to shoot almost every image on my website isn't even listed on the gear bag section here on Fstoppers. Oh well, until I decide how to upgrade, I'll just keep doing the best I can with what I have. That's pretty much what I did during my TV career as I tried my best to take the scripts I was handed and direct clean, live shows every night!
