Juan Torres

From an early age I became interested in art and began to experiment with drawing, painting and many other media. When I was 12 years old I made my first drawings exhibit in a local Library at my hometown.

I have a College Degree in Graphic Arts and another in Visual Arts Education.

In 2001 I acquired my first digital camera and started experimenting with technology and new digital media. Immediately I adopted digital photography as my main means of artistic expression. In 2007 I completed the “Digital Photography: The complete course” course of the New York Institute of Photography.
Since then I have worked with various types of photography, including events, portraits, artistic and nature photography in general.

Nowadays my work is mostly composed of nature photography (macro, landscapes and long exposure). But I also do portraits and commercial photos occasionally.
Some of my photos have been published in books, magazines and internet sites around the world, including a National Geographic book, Shutter Magazine and Popular Photography.

I currently work as a Visual Arts teacher and as a professional photographer.
