I came to photograph in the 70s in Ethiopia - there the orphaned photo lab should give way to a workroom - so I have taken the thing and incorporated myself into the matter; Of course everything is improvised and as cheap as possible.
There was no film expiration date, a Praktica was a great thing and a 135ger Tele was admired with an open mouth.
Well, come time comes ebay, today I call a Nikon EL my own, a F75, my darling, and still no F5, my dream.
I am crying for my Minolta D7; D80, D90 and a D2X were further stations; Now I'm trying to make friends with a recently purchased Nikon D7000. (326 pages manual - at the Minolta I had none)
Expensive lenses with car - I can not and will not afford Hyper Vr and SX and so enthroned usually my old series E 50mm on the high-tech part and with every luscious aparture grid you can hear a faint whisper than if the lens to the body says:
"I have photographed the construction of your factory buildings and will also keep your recycled remains as a flowerpot for posterity"
From macro to moon, I'm actually in all areas of photography - always looking for "the other picture". In terms of "lightpainting" I am still a layman, below a try, but you never learn. Although followers of the "picture from the box", I am more and more interested in the sheer endless possibilities of LR, PS and Co.; is this still photography? - - in the future yes.
