While I have been taking photos since the early 1970s, historically this was largely just for fun, but since leaving full time work at the end of 2015 (aged ~55) this increasingly expensive hobby that gets me out of the house has become my day job.

2016 was a year of discovery for me and my photography -- spending over 10 weeks on safari, mainly in Africa, and taking lots of opportunity to engage with top pros on workshops and seminars. I have learnt a lot, but much more to go. 2017 has started well with 15 days in the Masai Mara NR.

Almost all images are shot with Nikon digital cameras from one of the first digital point and shoots to my latest acquisitions D5 and D500 and my trusty pair of D810s and 400+600 FL super teles. Almost all my shots are taken RAW and are converted, adjusted and cropped in Lightroom and Photoshop.

A number of my shots involve predators interacting with prey -- including killing and eating -- so beware ;=)
