My journey began in 1975 with a Nikon SLR and a dedicated home darkroom, a foundation that instilled in me a deep appreciation for the "craft" of the image. This passion led me to the Photographic Society of America, where I spent years competing internationally and was ultimately honored with a listing in PSA’s Who’s Who in Photography.
After a hiatus, I returned to the craft in 2012, trading the darkroom for the digital lightroom. Today, I am an active member of an international photography collective, competing weekly and constantly pushing the boundaries of my vision.
While my gear bag lists the basics, my true passion lies in "character" glass. I specialize in creative effects using Lensbaby (Velvet 56 & 28) and vintage Helios lenses (including a custom reverse-mount) to create images that feel more like paintings than pixels.
You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography
all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard,
the people you have loved.
