Since my first Kodak camera, aged 9, capturing nature has been a fascination verging on obsession. In my early years I focused primarily on macro photography, my basic Kodak was amazingly good at that. I was attracted by the spectacular patterns found on butterflies to structural forms found in plants.
Having been bitten by the bug, I took on Saturday and holiday jobs to get the funds to purchase my first DSLR. This helped me to start understanding the technical aspects of photography and introduced me to film making for which I won an award at Esher College.
My fascination of the world we live in coupled with my love of capturing special moments has lead me to pursue a career in both moving image & photography through Falmouth University. If you asked me whether I enjoy photography or motion picture capture best, I would have to reply that I do not see a difference between them, just a different approach and that one complements the other. I am as excited at capturing a story through a single image as I am by creating a filmed and edited piece of footage.
