About Tom

Tom Lynn has been an award winning photographer for over thirty years. During this time he has witnessed and documented the power of the human spirit, unspeakable sadness and extraordinary splendor across the country and the world. As a staff photographer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel he had the opportunity to document life in Wisconsin and the stories of the people that live there. It is during this period that he grew to love the Wisconsin landscape and it’s people.

Tom’s work has been featured in many internationally recognized publications, including: Sports Illustrated, Audubon Magazine, New York Times, TIME Magazine and National Geographic Magazine.

In 2003, he was named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in the category of Explanatory Reporting.

Tom is also involved with environmental photojournalism projects that involve changes that effect both humans and animals. Environmental projects include: his coverage of Chronic Wasting Disease in the deer herd in Wisconsin, which was the project that was a Nominated Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2003. The Great Lakes water crisis, pollution in the Great Lakes and invasive species, The St. Lawrence Seaway. Tom has worked very hard to help preserve the environment that has inspired so much of his photography.

Currently Tom is traveling the state making compelling images and connecting people to the wonders of nature.
