Richard Bailey
Richard Bailey is a dedicated photographer whose images reflect the world as it truly is: honest, unaltered, and profoundly real. His journey into photography began in an unexpected place: the basement of his childhood home, where his family's business, Dick Bailey Service, Inc., was founded in 1966.
As the printing industry shifted from traditional hot lead typesetting to the emerging technology of phototypesetting, Richard found himself working with light-sensitive materials and photographic chemicals to develop plates for cold type typography. This hands-on experience with light, shadow, and chemical-based image reproduction quietly planted the seeds of a deeper passion. Years later, that interest blossomed into a serious pursuit of photography, not as a digital artist, but as a documentarian of the world’s natural and cultural truth.
Richard applied the same discipline that helped him grow his family's business into a respected leader in the appellate court service industry to his photography. As a Business Applications Developer, he was no stranger to precision and structure, and those values carry through to the way he frames and captures every image.
Richard’s photography has earned widespread recognition in international exhibitions organized by the Photographic Society of America (PSA). He has judged many international photo contests and has many international awards.
