About the workshop

So what is the Fstoppers Workshops?  This year between May 13-17 we will have 10 of the top educational photographers each teaching two, 2-day workshops.  The courses being taught include all sorts of genres including Fashion, Beauty, Headshots, Weddings, Architecture and Interiors, Swimwear, Commercial and Advertising, and everything in-between.  Each class is very small with only 10-20 students which makes this experience not only super hands on but also extremely personal. You can check out all the instructors and classes being taught on the Workshop Class Page.

What makes the Fstoppers Workshops so unique from other workshops is it is held at the amazing Atlantis Resort.  Atlantis is home to one of the largest water parks in the world, several amazing 5 star restaurants, mulitple bars and night clubs, dolphin and water excursions, and a huge casino.  Since every student is staying in this one resort, this workshop makes it super easy to not only make new friends but also makes for a great learning environment where students and teachers can hangout after each class has wrapped up for the day.  So no matter if you are looking to build a vacation with your significant other, family, or friends, this workshop is the perfect mix of work and pleasure.  Check out some of the fun stuff Lee and I did at Atlantis during our down time in the video below.

Last year's event was an amazing experience, and it has been unbelievable seeing how these courses have affected the photographers who have attended.  If you have any questions about the 2015 Fstoppers Workshops in general, head over to our FAQ Page on the Workshop Page or check out the FAQ video Lee and I created below.  Good luck to everyone and hopefully we will see you down in paradise!

I really want to shoot wedding photos with Lee Morist. Please pick me! ^^

Mike Kelley - Where Art Meet Architecture

The PYE & JUSTIN – LIN AND JIRSA’S WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY 101 – THE ULTIMATE FOUNDATION will really help us in our Photography business. We are new to Wedding photography and this will be an asset to our road to be better wedding photographer. Thank you!

Erik Valind's workshop would be ideal for my on-location work. His lifestyle images seem to perfectly blend artifical light with ambient light. Julia Kuzmenko McKim's beauty tutorials on the web have been awesome and would like to learn how she shoots to get amazing results for fashion and beauty work.

Wedding workshop 1 and 2! Would be so awesome to go and upgrade my skills and portfolio :)

I would love taking Mike Kelley classes!

Mike Kelley's class on Shooting and Compositing Light Painted Interiors and Exteriors would allow me to raise the bar on my growing business which will help me lock in more work.

Just what I need to make a career change. MIKE KELLEY – SHOOTING AND COMPOSITING LIGHT PAINTED INTERIORS AND EXTERIORS, also MONTE ISOM – SPORTS ADVERTISING GIGS: HOW TO GET THEM, HOW TO SHOOT THEM

Awesome stuff!

I would absolutely love Rob Grimm's class on Shooting Beer, Liquor, Drinks, and Liquids for Commercial Advertising. I would love to add more drinks and liquid work to my food photography and it would definitely help my business grow by adding that to my offerings.

Compositing with Aaron Nace!!!
I am from south america and here we have no direct access to workshops. This is a great opportunity.

I would choose Pye & Justin's wedding course because that has been my main focus for my business. I sure wish I could take them all. My second choice would be Mike Kelley's workshop.

Generous offer guys! Thanks for the opportunity:
Illuminating the face with Peter Hurley and Matthew Jordan Smith-Fashion photography on location

As I am an architect, I need to participate in Shooting and compositing light Painted interiors and exteriors from Mike Kelley... and another great workshop optimize my wedding business is to Pye & Justin Wedding & portrait photography 201 - Expanding your vision ... Of course the aaron Nace and Photography & Composing too essentials is a must see!

Dying to learn from Mike Kelley, his architectural stuff is fantastic and inspirational, saw his stuff on FStoppers a while back and have been aspiring to produce work even half as good as his since then.

I would be over-the-moon to be able to learn from Pye and Justin on Wedding Photography, though it was a very tough choice between that and Peter Hurley's Illuminating the Face class. Either would be a dream come true, and an amazing birthday present too, as my birthday is May 18.

Want to attend Erik Vanlid location n life style photography... but want to take Aaron Nace's workshop too!! Uff..

Pye and Justin's Wedding & Portrait Photography I think is more adequately to my photography

It's very hard to narrow down which classes I would choose but I think Aaron Nace - Photography & Compositing Essentials and Erik Valind - On-Location Portraiture and Lifestyle Photography would top my list. It's so hard to choose with the many great options available. Attending any of them would be a dream come true!

Mike Kelley - I would like to learn more things in interior and exterior photography.

Erik Valind, so I can better learn to art of editorial style portraiture or Matthew Jordan Smith to work on my Fashion Portfolio.

I'd love to learn just about anything related to compositing from Aaron Nace and Phlearn in the Photography & Compositing Essentials class! My second choice would be BEAUTY STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY & RETOUCHING with Julia Kuzmenko MCKim. My third choice would be Illuminating the Face with Peter Hurley! SHEBANG!

I would learn a lot from Aaron Nace and would love to meet Matthew Jordan Smith. BTW, it will be my birthday on May 17! :)

I'd love to learn from Erik Valind in his on-location portraiture and lifestyle photography class. I specialize in environmental portraits and high school seniors, so this class would be incredible. I'd love to take my work to the next level with Erik's instruction!

I agree with Mark! Mike Kelley and Peter Hurley workshops would be awesome.

I'm going to have to go with Joey Wright, and as a second I am torn between Aaron and Peter

Rob's product workshop!

Peter's Illuminating the face, and Julia Kuzmenko McKim's workshop, to learn more about lighting and retouching.

I have followed both Julia Kuzmenko and Peter Hurley for some time now. I have learned so much from them just through their videos. Would love to sit in their workclasses!

Erik Valind's Location class and Mike Kelley's Architectural class both sound amazing.

Count me in!

It will be a dream to meet and learn from two magnificent photographers . Julia Kuzmenko McKim - Beauty Studio Photography & Retouching, Pye & Justin - Lin and Jirsa's Wedding & Portrait Photography 201 - Expanding Your Vision

Julia Kuzmenko McKim - Beauty Studio Photography & Retouching and Joey Wright - On Location Swimwear Photography

I'd love to go to Mike Kelly's Architecture workshops! I'd travel from the other side of the world to attend his workshops if I could!

ERIK VALIND! He is a great teacher, with a couple of awesome books I’d recommend to anyone beginning to try to really understand the craft. (Portrait Photography and Sh*tty Lighting; Check ‘em out.) This workshop would help me really get over some of the mental and educational barriers I have in my photography today - and would change my shooting immediately! MATTHEW JORDAN SMITH is such a talented artist, being in his classes would help me to explore my own style and approach to fashion and portrait photography. Any of these artists (all ridiculous talents) and this experience would help catapult my trajectory toward that high standard excellence that I am ready to WORK FOR and know I CAN ACHIEVE. I love this photographic journey, I just hope Nassau is a stopping point along the way. Cheers to all.

Been a big fan of Peter Hurley for a while. Would love to have more insight from him!

An amazing opportunity to learn with some amazing top photographers, on Paradise Island in the month of May! It doesn't get any better than this. I definitely need to work on my lighting, posing and retouching. So, Erik Valind - On-Location Portraiture and Lifestyle Photography is perfect and if I win the BIG one, Julia Kuzmenko McKim - Beauty Studio Photography & Retouching would definitely be my next choice.

Mike Kelley's Shooting and Compositing Light Painted Interior and Exteriors. I've purchased "Where Art Meets Architecture," and all of Mike's Creative Live classes and always take away new techniques to improve my architecture and interior photography.

Very interested in architectural photography! And I really need a vacation! :P

Erik Valind – On-Location Portraiture and Lifestyle Photography looks perfect for me!

The course would believe more appropriate for my future as a photographer is "Fashion Photography on Location", by Matthew Jordan Smith, and the reasons are two basically, right now I do a lot of photographs on location for different clients, so I really would help the knowledge of iumination on location, and the second reason is because I wanted to do a series of artistic portraits on location and that could help me a lot with this personal project

I would love to attend Erik Valind's workshops!

1) PYE & JUSTIN – LIN AND JIRSA’S WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY 101 – THE ULTIMATE FOUNDATION (2) Erik Valind - On-Location Portraiture and Lifestyle Photography (3)
ulia Kuzmenko McKim - Beauty Studio Photography & Retouching (4)
Pye & Justin - Lin and Jirsa's Wedding & Portrait Photography 201 - Expanding Your Vision (5) Joey Wright - On Location Swimwear Photography

Bahamas, here I come.

Would love to take Aaron Nace's Photography & Compositing Essentials class. He seems like a lot of fun to learn from. I would also get a lot from Peter Hurley's Illuminating the Face Intensive class.

On location swimwear photography with Joey Wright, for sure. No doubt all instructors will have the common thread of requiring hard work, but I feel I can take away the most from Joey and apply it to shooting outdoors here in Australia. Weddings, family portraits, lifestyle and of course swimwear - we are a beach happy nation! Joey's tools look the best suited as building blocks for my photography here - that said I can also justify many others you have to offer!

Erik Valind - On-Location Portraiture and Lifestyle Photograph, would love to learn on location lighting, how to tackle different lighting situations.

Pye & Justin – Lin and Jirsa’s Wedding & Portrait Photography 201 – Expanding Your Vision

This would be a dream come true. Pye and Peter would be my choice for sure

I have taken classes with the most amazing portrait photographer Peter Hurley and I would love to venture into commercial photography. I would love to take MONTE ISOM – ADVERTISING GIGS: HOW TO GET THEM, HOW TO SHOOT THEM 5/13 class! I was always mesmerised by commercial images as a kid, looking at McDonald's burger ads... I know... and now, I always stop by makeup stores not because of their products but their product shots, I would love to learn form Monte Isom, how to get my foot into the commercial ring :) excited!!! hope I will win!!! hahaha and tell my fellow HK photographers the awesomeness of FS :)
