7 Tips for Starting Out as a Professional Photographer

You can spend a lot of time learning how to work a camera and process images, but it takes a lot more than that to become a successful professional photographer. If you are thinking of making the leap, check out this fantastic video tutorial that will give you seven helpful tips to increase your chances of finding success.

Coming to you from Julian Elliott Photography, this excellent video tutorial discusses seven tips for beginning as a professional photographer. One tip that I think is particularly important is not spending too much money on gear. It can be tempting to dump a bunch of money on high-level gear in an attempt to make sure you are as ready as possible and offering the best possible image quality. And of course, good gear can make your life easier, but you might be surprised by how little you need to produce client-ready images. Once you make the move from amateur to professional, gear becomes a business expense and one to which you have to pay close attention, so be sure every purchase is something that is truly needed. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Elliott.
