How to Get Started in the Business of Photography

Starting a photography business is about a lot more than simply being good with a camera and finding people to pay you for your skills. If it is something you are interested in but you have no idea how to get started, check out this fantastic video tutorial that features an experienced professional photographer discussing some advice he would give up-and-coming pros.

Coming to you from David Bergman with Adorama TV, this excellent video tutorial discusses some useful advice for photographers interested in starting their own business. If I had to give anyone in that position advice, it would be to be careful how they budget their time. So many talented photographers fail because they focus too much attention on their images and not enough on what it takes to run a successful business. You will spend far less time working on photos than you think, and there is nothing better you can do to improve your odds of success than taking a business class or the like, as you should think of the whole thing not as being a professional photographer, but rather running a business in which the service you provide is photography. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Bergman.
