Why You Might Not Be Finding Success as a Photographer

Part of the difficulty of finding success as a photographer is that the pathway there is a bit more nebulous and less codified than more traditional careers. If you are struggling a bit right now, this excellent video essay discusses an array of things that might be holding you back and what you can do to correct them and increase your chances of finding success.

Coming to you from Justin Mott, this great video essay talks about why you might not be finding success as a photographer. One simple tip Mott mentions that has helped me a lot is to keep a few business cards in your pocket and be ready to hand them out whenever an opportunity presents itself in conversation. Of course, that does not mean you should shoehorn your services into every social interaction, but do not miss the opportunity to present them either. A lot of clients hire a photographer simply because they met them once and remembered their name, so keeping your information at the front of their mind can never hurt. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Mott.
