These Are Our Favorite Fstoppers Logos From The Contest

The Fstoppers Logo contest has ended and after over 1500 submissions I can say that I believe all possible avenues have been explored. Both Patrick and I went through every single logo one by one separately and we narrowed them down to our favorite 17. Check out the full post to see our best options and vote on your favorites.

Try to look at each of the logos before with fresh eyes. If you truly believe that number 18 (our current logo) is the best, I want to know, but please don't vote for it just because you recognize it. I have my list of favorites already but I don't want to reveal them at this point. I want to hear what you guys think.

Below please pick your favorite 3 logos. I want to be make it completely clear that the winner of this poll WILL NOT automatically win this contest. We are simply interested in seeing what you guys have to say.

Again doesn't seem clearly FS to me, I read it as FS, or F9, or P9, or P5, or F5, or PS or pg, or...

yeah, I saw F5 when I looked at it.

This is literally a font downloaded from a font site with a circle around it... The one my friend made is better than all of these, but it wasn't even featured. It's painful seeing these ones when my friend's was much better. Are we allowed to show alternatives here?

Morgan is talking about this logo I submitted. Not gonna boast about it, but I was disappointed it wasn't one of the finalists after looking at some of these. I would appreciate feedback on it, I think it would look great on your new site.

I do like your font selection for "FSTOPPERS", but the actual logo is too reminiscent to the Adobe Flash Player Logo. Take a look.

That's a fair statement, there is some similarity but I didn't think that would be an issue. It's certainly not exactly the same, and it's the FS together that comprise the mark not just the F.

what's the difference??

for example, on your current site

f is too similar to flash player

I think this one could be one of the most versitile. each one of these submissions sorta look like they could belong on a car magazine website, but Im thinking in terms of future applicatoins, like an app, or letterheads, signs, square and rectangle advertisements, and so on. I think this one could be a recognizable shape that belongs on a clean well designed website.

dude...its the HTML5 logo and its not modified enough. so boatload of nopes.

Totally agree - it looks awesome but its html 5 :(

Please don't pick this one! As other people say its just like the html5 logo, and also to me it looks like some sort of hardware tool manufacturer, not a photography blog. Seriously, don't... I'm not kidding, please don't...

reminds me of transformers

This looks like a Soccer team logo to me

This looks too much like a car logo for my taste. I expect the site to be about an Italian performance automobile.

Reminds me of transformers aswell

Reminds me of the HTML 5 logo with the 5 Cut in half to form a F.

crap you're right. it IS the html5 logo. :/

Please DO. NOT. pick Logo #7, it's a shield, a replica of the transformers-logo combined with html5. No originality in it whatsoever and doesn't "feel" like something about photography at all.

Reminds me of the Tag Heuer logo but badly done.

it does resemble the html5 icon but the sides are angled and its in a solid that looks like a shield. This one looks more like a military badge.  I think #4 and #7 are the cleanest looking ones but i like the type font on #7 more. the rest look like default fonts that come loaded on your pc.

I didn't vote for this one, (though almost did) because I felt the logo had a little too much of a "Fantasy Football" look to it. Looks like something I'd see on the cover of a EA Sports video game box. Also, the background is a key component here to the look and I don't think for a logo that necessarily suits Patrick & Lee very much in their long term flexibility of use. It's nice but not the right fit here IMO.

This is one of my favs, however it reminds me of the Dodge shield, so kind of takes away from the technology-side.

#3 I like this logo but I don’t like the font chosen to go with the logo. I see what they were trying to do with the f but it doesn’t have enough weight.

i like the look but for fstoppers it should be more individual. it looks also like the logo of flyeralarm.com

The only reason people like this one is because of the fancy background. The logo seems pretty unusable.

My favorite one. I'm not a photographer, but this is the only one that is actually focused on the subject "fstopper" All the others are so focused on the logo emblem. This one takes that word and makes it look good. Anyone can photo shop (me)...I could do/make any of the same logos shown here. I just like this one because it shows the same quality as your company. Not sure if I'm explaining it right ;/ good job!

As a customer, I think this looks sharp and well designed. stands out to me, this is one I actually took the time to look at. It has a professional feel and would look good on any medium. In all reality there are only so many ways you can design an f and an s and I cant even think of a better combination. The type treatment is nice and legible, the kerning is on point. You should allow the top contestants to submit revisions seeing that this is spec work, this should work as a request for proposal. I would like to see what they can do with more direction. Spec work usually isnt as meticulous as a finished logo with direction Not to mention these critiques are totally subjective and not constructive at all. Im hearing a lit of butt hurt.

Good points, well said.

Makes me think F1 instead of FS, maybe it's just me...

It simple. Readable. It does not look like a rip-off (similar) to other logos already established. I enjoy a clean, understandable brands, where I don't feel like a dummy trying to figure out the hidden stuff (shapes or letters). Nice job!

I like the simplicity of it

The negative space that creates the logo is too thin. Have fun reproducing this logo small and still reading as an FS. Besides, it looks like a previous generation of the adobe flash logo. Flash FS.

This is one of the ones I prefer. It's simple and readable. It also looks like it could be a lens cap design, so even at first glance I'm thinking the site is about cameras.

Really like the readability of this one. Some others seem too brash or borrow from existing logos, this seems original and fits in with the site's content.

I first favoured this one but then no. 1 is very good too, both are my favourite choices

I like the way the f looks similar the universally recognized f in the f/number annotation and the s looks like the forward slash in the f/number annotation as well. You can clearly make out the f and the s that represents fstoppers, and it looks a lot like the f/number annotation.

Anyone else see the resemblance?

This is HP's old logo only black and with FS instead of HP. Same font.

To me #8 has the most professional cutting edge modern look that is also legible.

I see the F when I look at the logo but the S is less apparent to me on first glance.

Reads as RS or maybe rj, imo.

Here's an updated version of number 10 if anyone is interested. I streamlined the 'S's to match the logo at bit more. Hope you like it.
