These Are Our Favorite Fstoppers Logos From The Contest

The Fstoppers Logo contest has ended and after over 1500 submissions I can say that I believe all possible avenues have been explored. Both Patrick and I went through every single logo one by one separately and we narrowed them down to our favorite 17. Check out the full post to see our best options and vote on your favorites.

Try to look at each of the logos before with fresh eyes. If you truly believe that number 18 (our current logo) is the best, I want to know, but please don't vote for it just because you recognize it. I have my list of favorites already but I don't want to reveal them at this point. I want to hear what you guys think.

Below please pick your favorite 3 logos. I want to be make it completely clear that the winner of this poll WILL NOT automatically win this contest. We are simply interested in seeing what you guys have to say.

Well I'm glad I released these to you guys before choosing one! Number 11 is now out as well.

I looked for one that had a photography element to it; the slants on the lettering remind me of aperture blades.

I think Jenn has a point but it still looks like F5 to me. Perhaps this logo is worth developing further.

I agree ^ this was one of my favorites and im wondering why more people don't like it. Easy to read, yet looks cool. Also it's not as corporate lookingas some of the other logos.

I think I like this

A logo is supposed to represent what the company or service is about. This is the only logo that takes into account that Fstoppers is a photography blog and is designed with that in mind- none of the other logos give any suggestion that this is a photo blog. The lettering/kerning/etc could use work since it's hard to read but the designer definitely has an understanding on what the contest is about.

I'm not sure the logo needs to scream photography. If you look at Coke, Ford, or Apple, I don't think you can determine what line of business they are in.

I think the lettering from a camera's LCD is perfect. It embodies the name fstoppers because that is where we set the aperture. It emphasizes how good photography starts while looking through the lens, even if it's that of an iPhone. This logo is the only one that brings me emotion and that is why I like it.

love the background and the letter style. easily identifiable compared to the rest of the logos. VOTE

It was the only one that somewhat related to photography with the aperture blades. #13 is a rip off from the gamecube logo. #7 reminds me of the UPS shield or the transformers logo. #1 looks like there is a misplaced pixel in the S. #8 the f looks like adobe flash's "F".

In all honest I enjoy the original but can appreciate that I picked up on the aperture blades right away on #12.

This one is plagiarism of the Fyra Studio logo:

Uh-Oh. Not cool.

Hah! ok number 13 is out. The funny thing is, we got about 4 submissions very similar to this.

Wow. Straight rip. Good call dude.

Wow, good catch. That could have been bad news if it ended up winning. Shame on the submitter for that plagiarism.

Why not out him?

His name is already listed under the logo.

Harsh to say its a straight rip because with Logo design especially 2 letters its hard not to have a similar look. This 1 is at least circled and a little bit more slender. Plus it doesn't have the reflection.

And many, many more others.

i knew i had seen that somewhere else, poor choice from the author.

7S? I don't see the F when I glance at it.

Really?

I don't see a number 15… Only 17 total.

It would be really cool if you added logo 15. I'm sure many of us are wondering if it is ours.

Any update on logo 15?

Why was this issue never corrected? HELLO!

HELLO, THERE! 15?

Decent. Although I prefer the current logo or tinkering with 12 to get something more iconic.

This one works too

Reminds me Adobe Flash logo... Not a big fan really..

its kinda neat because the concept is neat. - The F and S represent the reflection of light similar to what you would see looking straight into a lens. Great concept, I feel the line width is a few points too wide.

logos 1-17 reminds me of other brands, no real creativity to say "this is the one".
18 is basic but it makes me think of Fstoppers and not some other video game company logo

Classic, recognizable, clean, brand mark, works as stand-alone, FSTOPPERS.

I still like this logo the best

I agree with the others, this is still my favorite. I hadn't voted for #12 because I thought it wasn't readable enough but after looking at it again and replying to Jenn's comment I think it deserves more attention and development. If you could make that logo more readable, I might prefer it over the current logo, but so far I still prefer what you have.

I don't think any of this logos makes a good change. They all look the too heavy and with a general lack of what I call good taste. Maybe because most of them are not designed by a pro. Seriously, I would NOT pay $2000 for any of these. On the other hand, I am a sad that not one of my 3 options were shortlisted. :(

Honestly Lee, I think the votes are somewhat bearing this out but your current logo is perfectly fine and I voted for it HONESTLY because it stands out on it's own. No reason to mess with it if it ain't broke. It's a brand we have all come to recognize as well so by default I think it should stay. Just my two cents.

Either keep the old logo or use this one. The others are really not creative enough and I think this font you use just reminds me FStoppers.com where ever I see it. Most of the other logos are just rip offs from other company logos.

Personally I don't think any of the 17 logos have that special something which makes me pick them from the current one, which is why I voted for the current logo to stay (at least until a better one is made!).

WHY RE-INVENT THE WHEEL? If is not broken, it doesnt need fixing! My absolute favorite. KEEP IT AS IS!
