A Helpful Guide to Using a Drone for Real Estate Photos

Drones have become a remarkably long way in the last few years, and you can now get professional-level images and video from most normal consumer models. As such, if you are a real estate photographer, it is a great time to consider diversifying your offerings by adding drone imagery. This helpful video tutorial offers an excellent guide to drone real estate photography from the gear you need through editing the images.

Coming to you from Billy Kyle, this awesome video tutorial will run you through everything you need to know about using drones for real estate photography. As you will see, one important thing to consider is if a drone is even right for a certain property. No doubt, many houses can benefit from an aerial perspective, but some, such as those in a heavily wooded area, might not offer any useful perspectives, and given the novelty of drone photography, it can be tempting to just do it anyway. However, you do not want to waste the time and effort to do so or risk promising a client photos that end up disappointing them. Check out the video above for the full rundown for the full rundown from Kyle.

"As you will see, one important thing to consider is if a property is even right for a certain property." Huh???

Oh heck. I was clearly tired when I wrote that. Thank you for pointing it out!

not a fan of the editing style, but definitely some nice tips for people who might be starting with drones & R.E.

You missed the part about it being unlawful to use a drone for commercial purposes if you are not a licensed drone pilot. A Realtor gets double fined for both benefiting financially from the photos, and flying commercially without a license. Most of them publish evidence of their crime right on their website.

And don't even think of flying in restricted airspace!
