4 Ways Photo Outings Can Fail

It happens to all of us at one point or another: our camera breaks, the weather does not cooperate, etc. We have all had a failed photoshoot before. This great video features a photographer discussing four different failed photoshoots of his own.

Coming to you from Steve O'Nions, this honest video discusses four different times a photoshoot of his failed for one reason or another. We all have stories like this. Perhaps my funniest was the time I tried to film an incoming storm with my drone. All was fine until the storm got close and I realized that I had severely underestimated both how quickly the storm was moving and how long it would take me to fly the drone back to shore. Luckily, I left the camera rolling, which made for some pretty funny footage of me literally grabbing the drone out of the air as blinding rain started to come down and my face contorted in horror as I sprinted across the field to the shelter of my car (maybe one day I will dig up that footage and share it). Anyway, we all learn from these experiences, and they can make for some great stories. Check out the video above, and share your story in the comments!

Only a failure, if you fail to learn from it--have a checklist, several backup batteries, memory cards, prep for weather, etc. etc.
