Everything You Need to Know About Aperture

Along with shutter speed and ISO, aperture is one of the three fundamental exposure parameters and something every photographer should master in order to take deeper technical and creative control of their images. If you are new to photography and ready to learn, check out this fantastic video tutorial that will show you everything you need to know about aperture, including how it works and how to use it to create better photos.

Coming to you from Nate Torres Photography, this excellent video tutorial will show you everything you need to know about aperture. Aperture is arguably the most creatively impactful parameter of the exposure triangle, with many photographers using it so often that they shoot in aperture priority mode, which allows them to select the aperture and have the camera automatically choose the shutter speed and ISO that best suits it. If you are still shooting in auto mode, the best thing you can do is switch your camera to aperture priority mode and experiment with different settings. Once you feel comfortable with that, you can then move on to manual mode to begin taking total control. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Torres.
