And another photography-related show has been canceled.
Following closely on the heels of the cancellation and rescheduling of CP+ in Japan and The Photography Show in England, The National Association of Broadcasters just canceled their April trade show in Las Vegas, citing health concerns.
Given that the last few years haven't been the best for some camera manufacturers, is there a chance that the cancellation of these shows and the platform for product launches that they provide will mean that some of our favorites may be heading towards bankruptcy?
The health and safety of our exhibitors and attendees has always been our top priority. After connecting with our partners across the industry on their concerns, and due to the national public health emergency we are currently experiencing, it became clear that adjusting the plans for this year’s NAB Show was the only option at this time. We only reached this point after great consideration, and we’re committed to providing you with more details about the future of this year’s show as soon as possible.
Next up, Photokina. Although the organizers have maintained that the show will go on, when Angela Merkel is talking about a 60-70% Corona infection rate among Germans, is that likely?

I covered the NAB/RAB show in Austin a few years ago. Sorry to the photographers/crews who are missing out on work this year. It was a fun event!
