Slightly too contrasty for me for a portrait or corporate headshot. Plus, the body is turned too much, IMO, and conveys an attitude that isn't appropriate if this is indeed a corporate headshot.
Nope, not a corporate headshot, it is a photo for a friend/client looking for something a little edgier and cool. I agree with you that it wouldn't be appropriate for a corporate headshot for the same reasons you mentioned.
